Why Do People Love Fluffy Toys?

All babies, most children, almost all teenage girls and most women love fluffy toys. A lot of men like fluffy toys as well, but they will never admit it. Why all this love for an inanimate object?

It all begins at a very early age. When a baby is firstborn, it finds comfort and bonding in the soft feel of its mother's breasts whilst it feeds. The baby naturally begins to associate softness with a contented feeling as well as feeling of being cared for and nurtured. This is usually true even if the baby is bottle-fed because most women will hold their children up to their breasts whilst feeding the baby anyway.

Throughout history, when a baby was put down it was found that putting something soft next to it allowed it to remain contented and feel nurtured. Archaeologists have found stuffed toys for babies going back millennia.

As the baby grows beyond the need for breastfeeding, it still finds affection and nurturing from being held close to its mother. But increasingly the mother is not available as much any more. So the child turns to the only other thing that comforted them at such a young age which was of course the soft cuddly toy.

As men grow up they are conditioned to no longer enjoy the nurturing as much as females, however for the most part they still enjoy the Fluffy toy. Some however end up having parents who severely discourage it and sadly these people can no longer enjoy the feel of the soft fluffy toy.

But for the rest of us it is something that brings back tactile memories of a pleasant, nurtured and safe time. Perhaps in this day and age we need is even more than ever before.
