Dragons are a favorite amongst most children. They can fly, breath fire and are magical beings. There are many varieties of dragons.
These mythical dragons often captured princesses, or kept guard over them as seen in Shrek. They are wise, long lived, living for centuries. They kept hordes of treasure and guard it fiercely. The bad ones ate knights in shining armor.
They are seen in TV series such as Merlin, and movies such as Eragon which was also a book series.
There is a Hungarian Hortail dragon in Harry Potter. You can get a plushie toy for this dragon, as well as many other dragon plushies.
Another new Walt Disney movie out for children now is How To Train Your Dragon which has already put out many toys, dragon plushies and other things for children. My family have seen the movie and we loved it. I think most children will like this movie and it's toys.
Dragons are typically seen as the bad guy, although in more recent times they have been portrayed as good guys.
Dragons are kind towards children. They love riddles. Some dragons challenge people to a riddle contest with a prize as reward.
I don't think dragons will ever become unpopular or fade into insignificance. They are here to stay.
