Jen’s Teddy Bear
Jenny’s grandmother had given her a blue teddy bear on the day she was born. When her family saw how much she loved her teddy, she received stuffed toys from them, too. She loved them all, and wanted to have them all in bed with her.
Blue Ted, as she named her first plush toy, was her favourite. She had, had him in her cot with her from when she was born, and she could not get to sleep without him. When her
mother washed him, she dried him with the aid of towels and a hair dryer.
Blue Teddy Bears are a favorite of children and you can get them for all age groups. You can get them specifically designed for babies. The manufaturer usually lets you know the ones that are designed for them.
Jen took Blue Ted everywhere with her. She wouldn’t go out without him. When her mother tried to get her to leave Blue Ted behind, she didn’t argue or shout or rage, but she would put him in bed. However, because she was so obedient, but so very sad, her mother always gave way and let her take him with them.
When her parents took her visiting, Blue Ted went too. He had to have a place next to Jen at the table, and be given a plate with food on it. On the odd occasion that she forgot to take him home with her, her mother had to take Jen back to find him.
Blue Ted got to be very well known in the neighborhood. When she lost him one day, her mother took her back to every place she had been. They didn’t find Blue Ted, and poor Jen was sobbing, when there was a knock at the door. To everyone’s surprise, there stood a bus driver, holding Blue Ted. Blue Ted had been traveling on the bus all day, until the bus driver finished his shift and could take him back to Jen.
Another time, Jen and her parents went to an anniversary celebration at a restaurant. Blue Ted, naturally, went with them. When it started to rain, they decided that it was time to go home, so Jen’s mother checked that Blue Ted was with them, and they went home. It was Jen’s bedtime when they arrived, so she had a bath and was taken to bed, but Blue Ted wasn’t there.
The family checked in the car, but he wasn’t there, either. By now, Jen was really sobbing, and no-one could console her. So her aunt and uncle went back to the restaurant, to check if Blue Ted had been found and left there. He wasn’t there, so they got torches out and searched in the pouring rain in the car park.
They found him, very bedraggled and muddy. He needed a bath. Jen was so happy to see him, but he had to sleep in a chair next to her bed that night, with her holding his paw.
That was the last time that Blue Ted was allowed in the car without having a seat belt on. Jen still has Blue Ted, but her daughter plays with him now.
